A senator from La Rioja targeted Lucila Crexell for her nomination as UNESCO ambassador

The senator for Neuquén, Lucila Crexell, remains in the eye of the storm and the rain of criticism after a document of her formal application as UNESCO ambassador was leaked, hours before the Bases Law is discussed in the Senate. “I hope he abstains from voting because his will is flawed,” said Riojan senator Florencia López.

During the session, the senator from Unión por la Patria criticized Crexellafter it became known that Milei’s government had begun the formal process to appoint the woman from Neuquén as Argentine ambassador to UNESCO, in Paris.

«I am wary of giving legislative powers to a Government that has handled this debate very poorly. I am very concerned about how we naturalize that a senator from the precinct can be given a position as ambassador and we stayed as calm as possible. The national government has given gifts and has signed decrees so that some senators sign the Bases Law,” López stated.

He added that «the national government has carried out actions, has given gifts, has signed decrees in search of one of these senators being able to do something or stop doing something, in this case, neither more nor less voting on the Bases Law.

The senator from Rioja pointed out against her Neuquén counterpart Crexell and said that “I hope that the senator who has been included in this vote, whose message will surely be sent in the coming days, abstain from voting because your will is flawed.

After those words, Crexell tried to interrupt and his counterpart from La Rioja replied, “Don’t interrupt me, Madam Senator, You will answer when you are summoned before the Court, if you have nothing to answer” and reaffirmed the rejection of the project.
