The National Final of the Intercollegiate Games, corresponding to the 2023 period, came to an end after meeting the chess champions and where Antioquia was the top medalist.

Chess had the participation of 116 athletes from 32 delegations, 55 athletes from the women’s branch and 60 from the men’s branch.

The athletes competed for gold, silver and bronze in the classic, active and blitz modalities.

The athlete from the junior category, Ana Sofía Díaz González, from the Antioquia delegation, managed to achieve two gold medals on the last day, in active and blitz.

For his part, the Bolivarian, also from the junior category, Mateo Herrera Jiménez, was one of the most notable, winning gold in the classic and active modalities.

This is how it went for Antioquia, top medalist

After finishing the tournament the medal table, he was in his first three places. First, the Antioquia delegation with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

In second place, Cundinamarca achieved 2 gold and 2 bronze. Bolívar completed the podium, with the 2 golds achieved by the athlete Mateo Herrera Jiménez.

In the general medal table of the National Final of the 2023 Intercollegiate Games, the Antioquia delegation took the top title.

Antioquia managed to achieve 80 gold medals, 54 silver and 29 bronze. Valle del Cauca was second with 53 gold, 43 silver and 36 bronze.

Finally, the medal table was closed by Bogotá with 40 gold, 34 silver and 27 bronze.
