In the Casanare Air Group, training is carried out in the control and management of fires, pre-hospital care, personnel rescue, operation of machines and different equipment that is used in a fire extinguishing operation in an airport emergency.
During a training day at the Casanare Air Group, 19 young people from Civil Aeronautics Firefighters Course 050 participated in intensive training with highly qualified military personnel, which provided an introduction to operational safety and standardized procedures for the evacuation of victims in emergency scenarios.
The main exercise consisted of simulating a plane crash, in which the participants had to help different patients. This process included the execution of all prehospital care procedures, which involve a series of critical actions and decisions to prevent fatal consequences or any future disability of the patient, during a health crisis or emergency.
The training of these 19 young firefighters is rigorous and complete. They initially receive three months of theoretical training in the country’s capital, where they acquire fundamental knowledge about fire control, evacuation, personnel rescue and other essential procedures.
They later apply this knowledge in practical exercises, such as the one carried out in the Casanare Air Group to reinforce their preparation and skills in real situations. This comprehensive approach ensures that future Civil Aeronautics firefighters are fully prepared to face any eventuality and safeguard people’s lives in emergency situations.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force will continue to carry out inter-institutional training and training, essential both for the development and strengthening of highly trained firefighters, who daily reaffirm their commitment to the safety and well-being of the aeronautical and civil community.
