After the approval of the fiscal package in general, the debate began in particular, and when discussing the controversial article 111, which sought to increase public resources by up to 2% of GDP by eliminating or modifying tax exemptions, which jeopardized the continuity of the tax regime. Land of Fire, the senators decided to reject it after an agreement between the ruling party and the opposition.
The request for elimination was raised by Fuegian senators Pablo Blanco (UCR), Cristina López and Eugenia Duré (UxP)who warned that if this initiative was approved, the Executive Branch could eliminate the Industrial Promotion Law together with 19640 and generate a detrimental impact for the province and the workers.
This request was accompanied by the senator of La Libertad Avanza, Ezequiel Ataucheand confirmed that the entire bloc was going to vote to reject the article even though they initially supported the measure.
The vote finally took place, and Article 111 was eliminated from the fiscal package by 65 votes against, 6 affirmative and 0 abstentions.
The senators who voted in favor of maintaining it were Carlos Espínola, Edgardo Kueider and Alejandra Vigo of Federal Unit, Carmen Crexell from the Neuquén Community, Andrea Cristina Federal Exchange and Guadalupe Tagliaferri of the PRO.
