In this first measurement of the year we achieved a record of coverage, reaching 319,198 students from 1,255 schools, which represents 91% of enrollment and gives. testimony of our commitment to inclusive and equitable education. The results demonstrate significant progress in reducing critical levels of reading fluency, a central objective of our educational policies: In the 3rd grade of primary school we achieved a reduction of 30 percentage points. In the 6th grade of primary school, the improvement was 8.9 percentage points. In the 1st year of secondary school, the reduction was 5.8 percentage points. In addition, a direct correlation is observed between reading fluency and reading comprehension. In the 3rd grade of primary school, 84% of students with an advanced level answered more than half of the questions correctly, in contrast to 52% of students with critical performance, who answered up to two questions correctly. These results motivate us to continue working tirelessly for quality education for all. Our commitment is clear: ensure that every boy and girl has the opportunity to reach their maximum educational potential. We continue to move forward with determination and dedication for #LosChicosEnLaEscuela.”

The 2024 Reading Fluency Census recorded an improvement of 30 percentage points, highlighted by the educational government.

The director of Educational Quality Evaluation, Romina Durán, explained that, after the students read for the census, they had time to re-read and answered questions related to three fundamental cognitive processes for reading comprehension: obtaining information, interpretation and evaluation and reflection.

“In this framework we were able to notice that the greater the reading fluency, the greater the understanding. This It allows us to know how to accompany each student, continue strengthening the levels of critical students and accompany the understanding processes. These advances that students register in reading comprehension are transferred to all areas of knowledge,” noted Romina Durán.
