The approval in the Senate of the Base Law, with the tiebreaker of Vice President Victoria Villarruel, gave air to the national government and left several facts for later analysis. In this sense, Vice Governor Fabián Martín referred in a press conference to the result and the position of the people of San Juan in the Upper House. Martín, first of all, repudiated the acts of violence that occurred outside the National Congress.
“The good thing is that the law has been approved, that the national government has such an important tool to be able to move forward. I believe that the RIGI is a very valid instrument for the country and for the province of San Juan, it is important for the arrival of investments. The truth is that it creates many expectations for us. We know that the project that was approved is not even close to the original project, but democracy also worked there with dialogue and consensus,” Martín highlighted.
The vice governor was consulted about the votes of the people of San Juan and was upset with Uñac and Giménez, “it is a shame that two senators from San Juan have not approved this law, voting against, if you will, the interests of the people of San Juan. It’s a shame because we are all really struggling to get out of this difficult situation, to create jobs, to generate wealth. And the truth is that this situation was not seen in their vote. It is really a shame that they did not support”, and he added “it is a shame that two senators who represent the interests of San Juan have voted against”.
