The Government of Magdalena is in charge of four photodetection cameras, while the others are the responsibility of the local authorities of Fundación, Aracataca and Zona Bananera.

After beginning the second period of ordinary sessions of the Magdalena Assembly, deputy Yohan Pinedo, through a proposal that was approved by the corporation, summoned the Secretary of Departmental Transit and the representative manager legal of the photofine agreement to clarify the doubts surrounding the implementation of the system.

Among the points to be discussed, the proposal presented by Deputy Yohan Pinedo stands out, which seeks to summon the Secretary of Departmental Transit, the manager and the legal representative of the photo fine agreement for the department’s roads, with the aim of clarifying the doubts surrounding the implementation of this system.

Deputy Pinedo’s initiative arises from concern about the increase in photodetections in Magdalena, especially in municipalities such as Puebloviejo, where cases of overturned vehicles and theft of items have been recorded. In this sense, the deputy questions whether the department is really benefiting from this system or if, on the contrary, there are particular interests behind its implementation.

That has caused different blockades and generated disruptions in terms of mobility on the main roads of the Magdalena, being that as a body of political control the Assembly seeks to determine the responsibility of the administration with these chambers.

The summons to the aforementioned officials is expected to take place next Tuesday June 25, where they will have the opportunity to respond to the Assembly’s concerns and provide detailed information about the management of photodetections in the department.
