(ADN).- Legislator Juan Martin expressed his rejection of the “surprise measure of force” ordered by UnTER for today, which he described as “a wild strike.” The measure of the teaching union raised the political temperature in the province that already had demonstrations by the government and an opposition bloc.

“We are fed up with the way this union behaves,” said the president of the PRO bench, considering that “again, all of us, students, parents, even the teachers themselves, are hostages to a small group of extortionist union members.”

Juan Martín stated that “as the government does not act with the necessary severity and is permanently incapable of managing the relationship with the workers, we now have a virtually surprising and savage strike.”

In this sense, he considered the decision to notify UnTER by the Ministry of Labor to be “correct.” “It is what corresponds, but the thing does not have to stop here,” he indicated, recalling that “over the course of 12 years, the Juntos Somos Río Negro government always ended up being distracted in the face of union extortion.” As an example of this, he stated that “not a single day of school lost due to unemployment was ever recovered.”

“We have to seriously discuss the issue of education because, in the long run, the children always end up losing,” said Juan Martin, pointing out that “it is urgent to approve the bill to declare education as an essential service and, in Río Negro , discuss the educational emergency that we proposed from our block.”
