Getaway to a small town in Entre Ríos with the only empanadas in the province

The town of Basavilbaso was born with the arrival of the train on June 30. Later, families of various origins, such as Italians, Russians and Germans, settled there, transforming the town into a true “immigrant zone.”

Since 1892, the railway was under the administration of the English firm “The Entre Ríos Railways Company Ltd”. In 1921, they moved the station to its current location and built the Machinery Shed for the maintenance and repair of trains. Thus, Basavilbaso became a polarizing center of rail transit at the provincial and regional level.
