This Friday, the Bolinter Specialized Women’s Hospital reopened its doors with an emotional ceremony presided over by Mayor Jhonny Fernández and the municipal secretary of health, Adriana Amelunge. This event marks a significant milestone in the mayor’s administration, reinforcing his firm commitment to women’s health in Santa Cruz.
During the event, the municipal Secretary of Health, Adriana Amelunge, expressed her gratitude and highlighted the relevance of this reopening: “This center is the eighth to open in this administration, which demonstrates our commitment to public health.” She stressed that this reopening is crucial to address the medical needs of the female population of District 6 and the entire region.
Bolinter Hospital will offer services for 12 hours a day, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., from Monday to Sunday. Its services include emergencies, outpatient consultations, pediatrics, gynecology, laboratory and mammography. “This center will provide comprehensive care for women, focusing on prevention and promotion, especially in the fight against breast and cervical cancer,” said Amelunge.
The health statistics in Bolivia are alarming: the country ranks second in Latin America in incidence of breast and cervical cancer. “The commitment of this administration to prevention and health promotion is essential. With this milestone, we hope to see a significant reduction in mortality rates from these diseases in the coming years,” said Mayor Jhonny Fernández.
The opening of the health center not only marks an advance in health infrastructure, but also symbolizes renewed hope for thousands of women who require specialized and timely medical care.
