“We found my son’s true purpose, to serve God and others,” said the father of little Juan Esteban.

Colombia News.

A moving story has gone viral on social networks whose protagonist was someone who donated his heart to prolong the life of another 11-year-old boy.

This was indicated by Leonardo Montoya, father of Luis Esteban Montoya Rodríguez.

It is known that the minor was a student at the La Normal de Armenia Educational Institution, who had an aneurysm.

However, last Tuesday, he began to have complications.

He was immediately treated by doctors from the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Armenia and the La Sagrada Familia Clinic.

Despite the efforts of health personnel, the infant did not survive.

But, in the midst of the situation, his family made the decision that Luis Esteban’s heart be transplanted to an 11-year-old boy in Valle del Cauca.

The procedure took place Wednesday afternoon, giving the recipient a new chance at life.

Although the family wanted to donate more organs, a recent episode of dengue that Luis Esteban suffered prevented this possibility.

His father, Leonardo, expressed that through this beautiful work, they found the true purpose of his son’s life.

“We found my son’s true purpose, that of serving God and others,” said Leonardo Montoya.

Friends point out that this act of donation highlights the importance of generosity and the ability to transform pain into hope for other families.
