The Attorney General’s Office required Cesar authorities to take immediate action in response to the increase in homicides, robberies, kidnappings and extortions in the department.
The disciplinary body indicated through a statement that it has requested the governor, Elvia Milena Sanjuán Dávila, to develop prevention and reaction measures to mitigate security and coexistence problems.
Likewise, he urged the commander of the Tenth Brigade, Cesar Augusto Martinez; the director of the department’s Prosecutor’s Office, Gloria Cassiani Niño, and the Police Commander, Eduardo Chamorro Pinzón, to develop “the necessary actions and also provide information in their territories to reduce the feeling of insecurity and unrest throughout the territory.” “.
The Public Ministry reported that it has asked the aforementioned officials “to manage the Security councils in order to strengthen the articulation of the actions of the different institutions and, finally, deploy operations at the regional, local and departmental level in matters of security”.
In that sense, the Regional Cesar of the Attorney General’s Office requested “the participation of the municipal authorities taking into account the provisions of article 277 of the Political Constitution and decree 1851 of 2021.”
