Six ministers from President Petro’s Cabinet turned the ‘ugly’ to Commission IV of the Senate that met yesterday in Guáimaro, Salamina in the department of Magdalena, since they ‘conspicuous’ by their absence. The ministers who were summoned and did not attend were the Minister of Transportation, William Camargo; Ricardo Bonilla Hacienda; Agriculture, Jhenifer Mojica; Housing, Catalina Velasco, Environment and Sustainable Development, Susana Muahamad, and Health Guillermo Jaramillo Martínez.

However, in the midst of the disappointment due to the absence of these ministers, the vice minister of Sports announced economic resources for 5.5 billion pesos for the improvement of sports infrastructure in Magdalena, announced the vice minister of Sports, Manuel Emilio Palacio, during the session. decentralized meeting of Commission IV of the Senate that took place in Guáimaro, in the municipality of Salamina.

“I would like to announce that by 2025 we will have a budget of $5.5 billion for the department because we need the Magdalena sports situation to change,” said the Vice Minister of Sports before those attending the historic meeting that was held thanks to the management of Senator Claudia Perez.

The national official who made a brief tour of the municipalities of Salamina and El Piñón was quite shocked by the situation of the spaces that are used for sports, for this reason he announced that he will ask the Minister of Sports, Luz Cristina López, to implement a shock plan to review the sports situation in the department.

But the good news didn’t stop there. In addition to this important area in sports, the regional advisor of the general directorate of the National Land Agency, Patricia Caicedo Omar, announced the delivery of land for production in the next quarter.

“In a month and a half we will be delivering 7 thousand hectares for work, at the end of next month we will have a special land day for an association made up of women and in three months we will be delivering more than 16 thousand hectares,” commented the advisor.

In the decentralized session there was also good news for farmers and fishermen. Alfredo Bula, Caribbean regional director – Aunap, reported that they will provide support so that they have what they need and can carry out more productive work.

“What we need now is for them to be legalized. We are going to accompany them and give them what is necessary for them to carry out their work, which is why we will be in the different territories making this invitation to them,” said the official.

At the close of the decentralized session, Senator Claudia Pérez felt pleased with the support of the National Government, as well as with the commitments made.

“I will be in the Senate fighting for Magdalena as long as I am. I am very happy with what we did in this Decentralized Session, but this is only the beginning because we must continue working so that we get the maximum potential that our department has,” concluded Senator Pérez.
