A resident of Santiago de Cuba identified as Lissete Franco discovered a frog inside a kilogram of meat dough that she had bought in a butcher shop in the Altamira neighborhood.
In statements to journalist Yosmany Mayeta, the woman stated that she bought the product at the butcher shop on Calle G and 6 in Reparto Donato Mármol, known as Altamira.
He explains that when he was trying to prepare the dough, he found a dead and almost whole frog inside. He was only missing one leg.
To make matters worse, when he tried to change the product he couldn’t because it was out of stock at the butcher shop.
“There is no more, but I’m going to do that.” cook for dogs. Because even if they change it, I’m already disgusted,” she commented.
This is not an isolated incident on the island. Food quality has been a persistent problem and the cause of multiple complaints from consumers.
In the past, cases of cockroaches, hair and cigarette butts have been reported in products such as bread from the rationed basket. The government has also recognized fragments of iron and inedible residues in sugar which is delivered by the warehouse.
In February 2022, a woman found a frog in a package of processed hashand in November of the same year, another Cuban found strange remains in the hash of the basic basket.
