What time is it and what lines will be affected this June 19

The Trade Union Association of Workers Subway and Premetro announced that this Wednesday will strike for the suspension of a union member. The measure of force will begin at 5 p.m. and will interrupt the six subway linesin addition to the premetro, in three staggered time slots.

“On Wednesday, June 19, we will carry out measures on the subway due to the suspension of our colleague and member of the Executive Secretariat, Claudio Dellecarbonara“, confirmed this Tuesday the union.

The measure of force will begin with the total stoppage of the lines B, E and Premetro between 5 and 7 p.m.. A two-hour shutdown will then follow. lines D and H: it will be between 7 and 9 p.m. At the end of the day the lines A and Cwhich will have suspended service from 9 p.m. until closing time.

Dellecarbonara was suspended for a pinwheel release that he carried out more than two years ago. “The breaches occurred at the Congreso de Tucumán (D) and Alem (B) stations in December 2021, occasions in which the emergency door was kept open, encouraging hundreds of users to enter without paying a fare, generating damage to the company,” specifies the court ruling.

Dellecarbonara is a former Buenos Aires deputy for the PTS-FIT and current secretary of the Union Association of Subway and Premetro Workers. He was also one of the left-wing leaders, along with Myriam Bregman and Patricio Del Corro, who promoted an amparo action to stop the latest fare increase on the subway, which brought the trip to $650.

In this framework, Metrodelegates demanded that “the company stop persecuting workers for exercising their rights, as indicated in the Constitution.”

“Sorry for the inconvenience that these measures may cause to users,” concluded the statement signed by Roberto Pianelli, General Secretary, and Néstor Segovia, Deputy Secretary, of the union.

The sanction against the union leader consisted of 15 days suspension, which was described as “atrocious” by the union. “The opening of turnstiles is common as a measure of force,” explained Andrea Salmini, press secretary of AGTSYP.

Emova says the subway strike is “unjustified”

For its part, the subway concessionaire company, Emova, also published a statement in which it called the measure “unjustified” because it was a ruling by justice.

“The National Court of First Instance of Labor No. 73 determined that Emova is in a position to suspend it for 15 days for preventing the normal development of activity in different work sectors,” he said.

There they not only remember that the metrodelegate kept the emergency door open at different stations but that he “repeatedly disobeyed the requirements of the hierarchical personnel to stop the action, which led to the sanction being applied.” They also say that the case requires a court ruling due to the union protection that the manager has.

And he closed: “We also remember that emergency doors are of vital importance in emergency cases and therefore their misuse represents a potential risk for all users. Likewise, repeated disobedience to hierarchical personnel implies a violation of their obligations as an employee of the company, which entitles them to apply disciplinary sanctions (LCT, art. 67). We regret that this measure of unjustified force harms the people who use the Subway and the Premetro.”
