The resolution of the University Justice Court indicates that “does not consider the requested temporary suspension measure to be appropriate against the denounced authority.” However, he resolved, as a precautionary measure “suspend the following powers conferred by article 64 of the Organic Statute: enter into contracts, enter into obligations and authorize expenditures in accordance with the regulations in force; “exercise guardianship, suspension and control of all administrative personnel of the faculty, regardless of the type of contract and the source of division in accordance with administrative decentralization.”
Also, the dean from the Faculty of Humanities, Alejandro Valverde, was prevented from appointing or renewing officials of the faculty’s administrative staff.
Velarde is denounced by alleged acts of discrimination and corruption. After the leak of some audios that went viral, students took over the university facilities and this Saturday they mark the sixth day of protest.
