In the morning an attack was recorded in the center of Neiva, exactly in the fourth race, two men aboard a motorcycle shot a relative of a peace signer who is in the city.
According to the authorities, this man is not native to the department of Huila, however he has been being threatened for some time, for this reason, he was passing through the city.
Jorge Lozano, Secretary of Peace and Human Rights of the Mayor’s Office of Neiva, emphasized that: “This peace signatory has been repeatedly threatened, he is not from the department of Huila, nor from Neiva.
In turn, after the events, the authorities installed a Security Council to take the pertinent measures and safeguard the life of the peace signer and his family.
“Thank God, the person who was injured is out of danger and we must continue working for the safety of Neiva,” said the Secretary of Peace and Human Rights of the Neiva Mayor’s Office.
Finally, Diario del Huila learned that at the time of the attack the peace signatory was not there, only the family member, who is recovering satisfactorily.
