In a forceful joint operation between the Toxicology Directorate and the La Paz Departmental Police, 10 raids were carried out in various neighborhoods of Santa Elena.
The procedures took place during the early hours and morning of this Saturday in multiple homes in the town, in the neighborhoods 12 de Octubre, Hipódromo, Fátima, Santa Elena III, Villa Urquiza and Palomar.
As anticipated ONE from the Department of La Paz, the preliminary balance of the operation includes the arrest of six people for the crime of selling narcotics.
What is relevant about the arrests is that one of the captured people is a lawyer for the local municipality. This is Aixa Schnitman, 28 years old, related through some activities to the Women, Gender and Diversity Area.
She and a family member are part of the six detained. She also meets a couple of a man and a woman from the Hipódromo neighborhood.
Cocaine, money and arrests
In addition, the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine and almost eight million pesos in cash was confirmed.
“Although the judicial procedures are still being finalized in some cases, we can confirm that the operation has yielded positive results,” said one of the uniformed officers who was in charge of the operation.
In detail, the total number of items found and seized:
25 nylon wrappers with cocaine.
5 nylon wrappers with marijuana (44 grams)
26 doses of LSD
Cash: 7,800,000 pesos and 456 dollars
