For several months, the bohemia of Valparaíso has been enhanced thanks to the so-called “Tocatas Porteñas”, a collaborative initiative between various venues in the city, musicians and the Citizen Mayor’s Office, which has made all types of audiences sing and dance.

So far, 50 gigs have been performed, where 35 venues and 53 Buenos Aires groups have participated, covering the sectors of: Playa Ancha, Barrio Puerto, Cumming climb, Ecuador climb, Cerro Alegre, Salvador Donoso and El Almendral.

This positive collaborative alliance not only promotes cultural spaces, but also strengthens the local economy and tourist activity in the port.

This was evident during the day of delivery of the results of these sessions, which took place this Friday at the Town Hall. Las Tocatas Porteñas is a project promoted by the Citizen Mayor’s Office and the Territorial Valpo al 100 program, with the support of the Directorate of Economic Development and International Cooperation and the Directorate of Cultural Development.

It seeks to improve the quality of the Buenos Aires community, through associative work between locals and bands, promoting Buenos Aires culture and the local economy, also supporting the increase in tourism.

Five days have been held in Valparaíso: the first version was in the “New Year’s Preview” with a total of 30 live presentations in three days in 30 locations in Valparaíso; the second was held over the long weekend for Easter; The third was a post-mapping show at the Santiago Severín library and focused mainly on the premises on Salvador Donoso Street.
