Over the Caribbean Sea, the interaction between the Monsoon Trough is observed, which locates its axis in the southwest of the Caribbean, oscillating with the high pressure system of the Azores, the low pressure system of the Darién and a tropical wave from the east. The interaction of these atmospheric systems maintains a moderate pressure gradient over a large part of the Caribbean basin, where easterly winds are observed with speeds between 15 and 25 knots and a significant wave height between 1.5 and 2.5 meters. On the other hand, associated with the activity of the Monsoon Trough, especially to the south of its axis, scattered rains with isolated thunderstorms, winds of variable direction with intensities between 5 and 10 knots, with a significant wave height that oscillates are observed. between 0.5 and 1.0 meters. It is recommended to take extreme security measures in the development of maritime activities.

Regarding the weather forecast, an increase in cloudiness is estimated during the day along the continental coast and its adjacent maritime areas, where rain with scattered thunderstorms is estimated, the most intense precipitation is expected in the maritime vicinity. of the central and northern coast, especially at night and early morning. In the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, partly cloudy skies are estimated with the probability of isolated rains and electrical activity is not ruled out.
