The Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago decreed the precautionary measure of preventive detention against a Colombian woman involved in the kidnapping and murder of a man of the same nationalitywhich occurred on June 6 in Santiago.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, that day the victim, 33 years old, left his home to meet with the accused, of the same age, in a motel in the center of the capital.

While the meeting was taking place, different vehicles were on the outskirts of the premises, waiting for the man. When he leaves the motel, He is kidnapped and transferred to the Talagante commune.

The criminal gang, together with the accused, began to make extortion calls to their close circle, requesting a million pesos in exchange for his release.

The relatives decided to accept the request. Later, a brother of the victim met with two people, who arrived on motorcycles to collect the money.

However, although the ransom was paid, the criminals took the man to an empty place, on Route 78, and shot him multiple times..

“Despite the fact that a ransom was requested, which was paid, the kidnappers finally ended up executing this person,” said the prosecutor of the Team Against Organized Crime and Homicides (ECOH), Jorge Caceres.

The prosecutor announced that “soon we will continue formalizing other defendants who are already identified in the case.”
