In total, five institutions benefited, impacting more than 9,000 students.

This Tuesday, a new delivery of an educational innovation laboratory was carried out in Santa Marta. The Ministry of Information Technology and the Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta provided this valuable tool to the students of the Liceo del Norte District Educational Institution.

More than 1,500 students will benefit from the implementation of technological tools that cover all areas of knowledge. This effort, led by Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello and the Secretary of Education, Sandra Patricia Muñoz, guarantees that students have the necessary resources to advance in their academic process.

In this context, the tenth grade student, Alexánder Zambrano Morales, expressed that having this innovation laboratory will allow all students of the IED Liceo del Norte to advance on the path of knowledge and enter the technological era.

“It is necessary to thank the National Government, the Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta and the Ministry of Education for this delivery, which demonstrates their confidence in us. As students of Liceo del Norte, we are prepared to lead these processes,” said Zambrano.

For his part, the rector of the institution, Jim Cotes Dodino, stated that “thanks to these technological tools, our students have the opportunity to strengthen and expand their knowledge and collaborate with the community when necessary. In addition, it is a great boost to promote technological culture at the Liceo del Norte.”

Likewise, the Secretary of District Education, Sandra Patricia Muñoz, spoke with the students of the IED Liceo del Norte about the importance of the proper use and exploitation of these tools, which contribute to improving educational quality, one of the pillars to generate true transformations in the sector.

It is important to remember that the educational innovation laboratories, delivered at the IED ‘Jesús Espeleta Fajardo’, Rodrigo de Bastidas, La Revuelta, Liceo Samario and now at the Liceo del Norte, include 3D printers, STEM engineering kits, video projection systems (interactive screens or VideoBeams) and content managers, as well as tools applicable in all areas of knowledge, not only in computing or innovation.
