The survey of environmental liabilities includes all industrial and economic activity in the San Jorge Gulf “and particularly in the city where we coexist with oil activitywith the fishing activity, and with all the Industrial activity,” said the secretary.
The first part of the survey created a technical team with more than 18 municipal workers, defined as environmental inspectors with six mobile phones to tour the different locations and sites. The General Director of Mines and Hydrocarbons, José Krause, commented that they reviewed YPF deposits: Campamento Central, Cañadón Perdido, Escalante and Bellavista.

Facilities in operation and inactive or abandoned were surveyed and certificates of verification and infringement were drawn up. “We were able to verify, for example, emergency pools without the corresponding network, with the protective membrane broken, with the presence of dead animals inside,” Krause explained.
As for the inactive wells, they detected that there were some without the corresponding “abandonment, in many cases with the wellhead undermined, completely devoid of conduction lines, which are two-seven-eighths pipes, also uncovered and in the vicinity of urbanizations.
