On November 9, 2020, the Salta Judiciary began a total modernization process, replacing paper files with proceedings in digital format. To date, the system is applied in most of the courts of the Province, including the Court of Justice itself.

The transformation allows all judicial operators to easily enter the proceedings, even from their smartphones, which greatly speeds up the activity, providing speed as the main benefit. From that start date to the present, in the judicial offices that have a Digital File System there are a total of 224 thousand files.

When a new dependency is incorporated into the Digital File System, the most significant change in the process occurs. The lawyer no longer has to go to the front desk to consult the paper file patiently sewn with thread and needle. He also does not need to attend public service hours since he can enter his presentations 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In addition, he will no longer interact with the Virtual Table, which has been of valuable use since times of the pandemic, but which is surpassed by the new Digital File System (SED).

Once a court is incorporated into the system, the parties to the process must enter the platform designed and permanently updated by the Technology and Innovation Directorate of the Judicial Branch of Salta.

The last courts incorporated into the system were the First Instance of Labor of Metán, the two Civil and Commercial courts and the two of Persons and Family of that same District and the First Instance of Civil of Persons and Family of First and Second Nomination of Tartagal. Prior to the implementation of the Digital File System, meticulous work is carried out by IT professionals to allow any new case to be processed entirely in digital format.

For example, to allow the two Personal and Family courts to begin working with the Digital File System, it was necessary to migrate more than one million two hundred thousand proceedings since they have a digital management system.

In Family Court 1 of Tartagal, 29,749 files were migrated and in Family Court 2 of Tartagal, 21,096 were migrated. And in Metán, 4,737 files and more than 142 thousand actions were migrated with almost 500 thousand movements to allow the Court to be incorporated into the Digital File of First Instance of Labor of that judicial district.
