Director of the Felcn in Santa Cruz was removed from office after almost a year in office

The director of the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (Felcn) in Santa Cruz, Colonel Víctor Zamorano, was removed from office in the last week after spending almost a year in charge of said entity.

The position of the now former police chief was occupied on an interim basis by Major Rubén Moscoso, who had the task of carrying out important operations and raids in the city, such as the ‘narco flight’ case, the shipment of drugs to Europe, the seizure of a bus that transported drugs, among other deployments against micro-trafficking.

EL DEBER learned that this Monday, June 17, the new director of the Felcn will possibly be presented, who will be inaugurated in a formal ceremony under the command of the national head of the entity, Colonel Ismael Villca.

Zamorano arrived to replace Colonel Yumer Justo, who at the time was summoned to testify for the escape of Uruguayan drug trafficker Sebastián Marset Cabrera.

The former director of the Felcn had to face difficult moments, such as the ambush by Umopar agents during interdiction operations in Cochabamba. Also the crossfire in San Ignacio de Velasco against bodyguards of Brazilian Lourival Máximo Da Fonseca, wanted internationally for a chain of criminal offenses.

During his administration, several heavyweights from Brazilian criminal organizations, such as the PCC and the Red Command, landed in Santa Cruz on specialized missions, to later be extradited to their country of origin. In addition, interventions were carried out in clandestine tracks, where tons of drugs were found ready to be shipped.

The Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo, stated that this is one of the routine changes that occur in law enforcement. Zamorano was withdrawn to the Felcn in La Paz, according to some sources.

EL DEBER tried to contact the now former anti-narcotics chief to get his version, however, it was not possible to obtain his personal cell phone number.

Opinion

The former anti-drug prosecutor, Joadel Bravo, stated that the premature changes are due to irregularities that may be due to disciplinary offenses or illegal acts.

“The irregularity in the changes in the Felcn certainly do not obey police regulations but rather other events, such as illegitimate interests since these police chiefs do not come forward to be prosecuted, so it follows that their changes are illegitimate,” he explained in an interview. with this journalistic house.

He insisted that, if there are police chiefs who are changed and are not prosecuted, but the opposite ones occupy other positions, this constitutes a “serious affront to police regulations, especially of the general commander and the Minister of Government.”
