Cesar Hernández González, from Toledo, received this Saturday in Almansa (Albacete) his well-deserved recognition as the best coach within the Sports Merit Awards and Distinctions of Castilla La Mancha for the year 2023.

César Hernández has more than 23 years of experience in high-performance volleyball. Currently, he is a national Level III Volleyball coach, since 2003, and an International Level II Volleyball coach, since 2016.

In her extensive career we can highlight her work with the Spanish Women’s Absolute National Team, from 2002 to 2018, taking part in different European Championships, Pre-World Championships, European Leagues, Universities and Mediterranean Games, among other competitions. The Toledo coach has also played the role of Team Manager, scout, assistant coach and physical trainer.

In 2019, he signed with the South Korean Volleyball Federation, serving as assistant coach of the Women’s Senior National Team until 2021, achieving third place in the Asian Championship with the Korean National Team in 2019 and fourth place in the Olympic Games. Tokyo in 2020. In 2022 and until 2024 he signs as first coach of this Asian Women’s National Team, seventh in the world and qualified to take part in the Olympic Games. from Paris this summer.

Looking back a little further, during the years 2014 and 2018 he signed as an assistant coach with the clubs Lokomotic Baku (Acerbayan), the French club Cannet Voley Ball and the Italian Savino Del Bene Volley Scandicci.

From the 2019/20 to 2022/23 season he served as assistant coach in one of the best clubs in the world, the women’s Vakifbank Istanbul, where he has already achieved the following titles:

Two Turkish National Championship titles (years 2021, 2022).

Three Turkish National Cups (years 2021, 2022 and 2023).

A Turkish Super Cup (year 2022). Second Classified (years 2019 and 2020)

Two European League Champions Cups consecutive (years 2022, 2023) and Runner-up in 2021.

Club World Champion in 2022 (Third in the World Championship in 2020 and 2023).

Currently and since the 2023-24 season, he has been the head coach of the French women’s team Neptunes de Nanntes and has played in the French Cup and the French League A. In February 2024 he played in the final of the European Championship “Challenge Cup”, obtaining the runner-up
