The work to recover the Zaza del Medio railway station, belonging to the Sancti Spiritus municipality of Taguasco and started on June 4, continues according to the execution schedule

The restoration work at the Zaza del Medio railway station, belonging to the municipality of Taguasco and assumed by the Mipyme Construcciones Orta, continues according to the planned schedule, details a note from José Lorenzo, director of Transportation in the Provincial Administration of Popular Power in Sancti Spíritus, published on its Facebook profile.

The Sancti Spiritus manager points out in this social network that there is the necessary resources and the specialized workforce to take on this work, which is considered large-scale and can be completed in the first quarter of 2025.

As Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Cuban Minister of Transportation, had announced, since last June 4, the restoration work of the railway station in the community of Zaza del Medio began, considered one of the oldest facilities of that branch in the province and, therefore, with notable heritage value.

Rodríguez Dávila stressed that beyond specific dates the commitment lies in guaranteeing the recovery of such an important heritage, both for the town of Zaza del Medio and for the railway sector.

During the last century, the Zaza del Medio railway complex constituted one of the most important intersections of the railway that linked the West and the East at kilometer 14. In this way, it became the most important building in the city and the symbol of the town. .
