A request from the First Prosecutor’s Office of Bogotá ordering a raid in the Guayabal area of ​​the municipality of Labranzagrande resulted in a battle against an ELN stronghold, which culminated in the surrender of two minors and the recovery of weapons and communication equipment.

The Commander of the Sixteenth Brigade of the Army, Colonel Carlos Realpe, reported that the National Army carried out a stability operation in the Guayabal village of the municipality of Labranzagrande in which three rifles, a pistol, uniforms, computers and notebooks were recovered. with records of extortionate payments.

The rescued minors, a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, were illegally recruited in Fortul by alias Malverde, leader of the José David Suárez guerrilla, said Colonel Realpe, indicating that both teenagers as soon as they saw the Public Force They surrendered and are in good health, the other members of the illegal group managed to flee the area.

According to Colonel Realpe, the girl had a Glock pistol, which the criminal structure supposedly gave her due to her small stature, while the boy was carrying a rifle which was recovered.

Realpe reported that the José David Suárez commission of the ELN that operates in Labranzagrande has approximately six members left in the area. The operation made it possible to dismantle part of its structure and obtain key information for future actions.

The military operation was carried out within the framework of the Ayacucho campaign plan in conjunction with the Eighth Division, the 16th Brigade, the Casanare Military Group, Gaula Casanare, the National Police and the Air Force.
