Despite the difficulties it presents in some sections, the Yopal-El Morro-Labranzagrande-Vado Hondo road axis is the only alternative that the llaneros of Arauca and Casanare have to communicate with the rest of the national territory.

Last week, machinery and workers from the Casanare Infrastructure Secretariat were working at the critical points that regularly prevent the passage of vehicles due to the rains, especially the section that connects El Morro with the La Almorzadereña ravine, which is precisely the route that corresponds to Casanare.

The highway from Yopal to Vado Hondo has several sections with periodic difficulties, such as the section between the capital of the department and the La Cabuya bridge, on the marginal road of the jungle, a branch whose maintenance corresponds to Invias. From the La Cabuya bridge to El Morro, rock falls occur at the El Viejo site, and minor landslides at different points, especially during the rainy season; This route has the presence of machinery and workers from Ecopetrol, who keep it more or less passable.

The interval between El Morro and the La Almorzadereña stream is being attended to by the administrations of Yopal and the Government of Casanare, which in the face of the emergencies that arise with the cyclical closure of the Cusiana and Sisga transversals, as well as the Belén- Socha-Sácama (Ruta de los Libertadores), there is no different alternative to travel to Boyacá and the rest of the country than the El Morro-Labranzagrande-Vado Hondo highway.

The advantage is that the governments of Boyacá and Casanare, from the moment the two leaders took ownership, prioritized investments in the expansion and paving of the highway that is financed with resources from the Bicentennial Pact.

The governors of Boyacá, Casanare and Arauca supported the initiative before the national government to anticipate economic resources, valid for the future, to be able to carry out important works.

The proposal is that the transfer of budget items not be done in eight years as initially contracted, but in three years, which would significantly lower the costs of the works, because it will allow contractors to have financial muscle, which will have repercussions in much faster progress in the execution of these works.
