Last Saturday, June 15, the final of the Betplay League, the Colombian professional soccer league, was played. The Atlético Bucaramanga team was the winner, after an even match against Independiente Santa Fe and a round of penalties. The Santander team took its first star in 75 years of history. The Santa Fe fans showed their sadness and disappointment, one of them was the Noticias Caracol presenter, Jorge Alfredo Vargas, who is a faithful follower of the Bogotá team.

Vargas had commented on his joy and predicted a better result for Santa Fe days before the match. “The FPC final arrives in Bogotá. Welcome the people of Bucaramanga, the people of Santander, this is going to be a beautiful final, one of the best. Here, obviously, Santa Fe is going to win and we are going to have the tenth star on our shield, which is what we are looking for. A great team, the best campaign and here we go, tough game, but we are going to win,” said the presenter in a video shared on social networks.
Although the Bogotá team failed to add another star, Vargas sent a message to the followers of Atlético Bucaramanga, regretting the defeat, but congratulating the winning team that completed its first resounding victory in the league. “Always with the glorious Independientes Santa Fe in the good and the less good… In the stadium, with the partner and in the rain. Congratulations to the Atlético Bucaramanga fans for their first well-deserved star. Here we will continue at the foot of the Lion,” he wrote on his social networks.
