Fifteen talented candidates have been chosen to compete for the coveted title of District Captain at the upcoming Fiesta del Mar, which will be held in Santa Marta from July 25 to 29.

The selection process took place last Sunday, June 16 at the Santa Marta Theater. The candidates were interviewed by a jury of experts, composed of Yireizi Zapata (Ambassador of Folklore), Laura Angulo (current District Captain and Miss Santa Marta to the National Captaincy of the Sea), Daniela Restrepo (National Captain 2023), María Cristina Torres (president of Asohuellas) and the renowned plastic surgeon Edwin Vega de la Hoz.

After the interviews, the participants paraded in swimsuits, and finally the representatives of the following neighborhoods were selected: Terranova, Rodadero, Bavaria, Lebanon, Yuca, Villas del Palmar, Minuto de Dios, Andrea Carolina, María Eugenia, La Paz, Bonda, Gaita, Villa del Río, Ciudadela and Divino Niño.
