A contractor in the Quindío governorate would be involved in the scam suffered by several people who would have paid between 450,000 pesos and 10 million pesos to supposedly apply for a job in the departmental education secretariat.

Governor Juan Miguel Galvis Bedoya pointed out that, as part of the preliminary investigations carried out within the administration, the possible participation of a contractor was evident, for which the fact that could represent a case of impersonation was immediately reported to the relevant investigative entities. and misuse of the administration for criminal purposes.

The Secretary of Education, Tatiana Hernández Mejíaexplained that “the people were approached by calls, SMS, WhatsApp or voice notes, where they were told that after signing an initiation document they had to appear at the Government to carry out the process of taking office. Once they realized that there was no news regarding their cases, they approached the Government, where they found out that it was a scam because these bad practices are not carried out from the secretariat.”

And he added “the victims paid, for jobs providing services between 450,000 and 600,000 pesos, while, if the vacancy corresponded to a regular job, the cost ranged between 4 and 10 million pesos”
