The strongest chess tournament in the Central-South Zone will be held on the Maule coast!

32 of the best chess players from the regions of Maule, Ñuble, Bío-Bío, Araucanía and Metropolitana will meet in the commune of Chanco to compete.

He Kings of Chanco Chess Clubfounded in 2022, has become a prominent regional power in the discipline, actively participating at the national and international level.

With the support of the Illustrious Municipality of Chancothe club annually organizes an IRT Rápido international qualification tournament in January at the Federico Albert National Reserve, with prizes of up to two million pesos and the participation of renowned national and international players.

As a result of this success, the idea of qualifying competition for the fourth edition of the tournament, the “IV Rapid IRT Chanco 2025“, known as Grand Prix. The winner of this competition will get the opportunity to participate free of charge in the 2025 version of the tournament.

This year, 32 of the best chess players from the regions of Maule, Ñuble, Bío-Bío, Araucanía and Metropolitana will meet in the commune of Chanco on the days June 28, 29 and 30 to test your strategies and tactical skills in this exciting game.

The tournament will take place in format Round Robin (all against all, one way), valid for FIDE ELO, by categories, closed and by invitation. The invited players were selected according to their international ranking (ELO FIDE), prioritizing outstanding regional competitors.

The main objective of Grand Prix is to strengthen and promote the practice of chess in the Maule region, promoting the participation of established, emerging and school players, preparing them for national competitions during the summer.

The event will be broadcast live through the club’s social networks, with comments from prominent experts in the country.
