Alejandro Osorio achieved his third victory in the Vuelta a Colombia 2024 in Buga – Colombian Cycling Federation

The Carmelite cyclist Alejandro Osorio was the winner of the fifth fraction of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024, which took place this Wednesday over 195.6 kilometers, between Manizales and Buga.

Although the winner of the sprint was his teammate Daniel Arroyave (GW Erco Shimano), after the review of the finish, the Antioqueño born in Yarumal was relegated by the judges after the “deviation of the chosen line that obstructs another runner”.

Osorio achieved his third stage victory in this edition of the race, after crossing the finish line ahead of Juan Esteban Guerrero (Avinal-Alcaldía El Carmen de Viboral) and Johan Colón (Orgullo Paisa), who finished in second and third position, respectively.

The escape of the day was led by the Ecuadorian Jimmy Montenegro (Movistar Best PC), and by Daniel Hoyos (Mayor’s Office of Manizales-100 Huevos), José Tobasia (Ebsa), Leison Maca (Inderhuila), who had a difference greater than five minutes on the lot, but they were neutralized with 20 kilometers left to reach Buga.

The general classification maintains Rodrigo Contreras (Nu Colombia) as the leader of the race, followed by Wilson Peña (Team Sistecrédito) at 44 seconds and Diego Camargo (Team Petrolike) at 48.

This Thursday the sixth stage of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024 will be run, with a fraction of 173.3 kilometers between the municipalities of Buga and Apía, in the department of Risaralda.
