On Wednesday, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Guido Romero, announced the transfer of the date of the National Sun Festival. The official was accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Belén Barboza and the Secretary of Culture, Eduardo Varela.
In this way and by virtue of the fact that the National Festival of the Jáchal Tradition will take place on the second and third weekend of November, Governor Marcelo Orrego asked to advance on a new date to avoid the overlap of both events and allow the people of San Juan and tourists from other provinces who want to do so can generate a circuit of San Juan festivals during that month.
The Government of San Juan, after having announced days ago that it was going to take place on November 7, 8 and 9, decided that the final date for the National Sun Festival would be October 31, November 1 and 2.
In this sense, Minister Romero said: “We are working with a variety of national artists for the event, maintaining the original project with emphasis on local culture and self-sustainability through private contributions, guaranteeing the celebration for the inhabitants of San Juan.” .
He added that “we work with several national artists, seeking availability for the event. “We maintain the original project of the Fiesta del Sol with austerity and support from the private sector, ensuring its completion on the new scheduled date.”
This decision will allow the Province of San Juan to offer three consecutive weekends in November with cultural activities and relevant national holidays.
