Total, 16 teams, 10 from Conmebol and 10 from Concacaf, will seek the oldest national team title in the world.
Edgardo Broner, journalist for the American network Fútbol de Primera, analyzed the start of the continental tournament on NTN24.
“While it is not disputed that Argentina is going to win tonight, there is a warning because Canada is a tough team”, he indicated.
Regarding the Colombian team, the communicator assured that “it is a great team with very good players” from whom he expects mental strength to assume the favoritism with which it enters the tournament.
“Néstor Lorenzo is working on the mental aspect so that the World Cup in the United States in 1994 does not happen”, he indicated.
“Colombia is one of the big four and candidates for this cup”, he stressed.
In this sense, he maintained that, although Argentina is one step above the others, “The teams are thinking that this Copa América is the great opportunity to prepare for the World Cup because it is the only time in four years that the coaches have their players for a month”.
