Declared Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, during a tour carried out together with the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez through areas of the Siguaney Cement Company

As part of the government visit to the province of Sancti Spíritus, the Prime Minister of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz, accompanied by the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and the Minister of Construction René Mesa Villafaña, held an exchange with the managers and workers of the Siguaney Cement Company, where he became interested in the progress of the production processes and the new projects related to the economic and technological development of the factory.

After evaluating the economic indicators of the cement industry, Marrero Cruz inquired about the salaries of workers and indicated looking for alternatives to improve it based on productive increases.

The delegation, also made up of other leaders of the Party and the Government in the province and municipality of Taguasco, verified the behavior of asphalt manufacturing, which should grow taking into account the possibilities that the territory has, both in availability of aggregates and high-quality asphalt liquid produced at the Sergio Soto Refinery in Cabaiguán.

The Prime Minister and the rest of the companions visited the premises occupied by the Rioca MSME, located in the Siguaney cement factory itself, where various assortments such as adocrete blocks and slabs are obtained with minimal use of cement.

In that facility, they learned about the local development project Infinite Journeycarried out by Wilfredo Prieto, a work of art that provides benefits to residents in the vicinity of the town of Zaza del Medio.

According to Marrero Cruz himself, the visit to the self-consumption areas of the Siguaney cement factory demonstrates what can be achieved from the perspective of the socialist state company, which is why he suggested replicating this type of work, while at the same time They look for formulas among all economic actors to contribute to development.

Regarding the designation of Sancti Spíritus as the venue for the event for the National Day of Rebellion, the Prime Minister of Cuba declared: “We had planned to make this government visit to the province and, once it was approved by the Political Bureau that Sancti Spíritus was the headquarters of the central event for July 26, we decided to keep it even though we were aware of the results of the territory.

“This visit, in addition to appreciating the progress of all the programs prioritized by the country, has the objective of taking advantage of the context to promote the works for the 26th. We are visiting all the municipalities of the province, checking and at the same time stimulating the execution of works and works that will allow a boost in the development of Sancti Spíritus and its territories, something that the people of Sancti Spíritus deserve,” said Marrero Cruz.
