After meeting with businessmen and taxi drivers, the Bogotá taxi drivers union He confirmed that he will be part of the national strike called for next July 23.
The reasons on which this organization is based to join this mobilization is the unsafety which taxi drivers face daily the illegality of other platformswhich negatively impacts their work economically.
“Illegality is overflowing. Between motorcycles and private cars they are leading us to bankruptcy, that is why we unite and show solidarity on this day of national strike on July 23,” said Manuel Gil, one of the union leaders.
Thus, one of the demands of taxi drivers is that there be more forcefulness on the part of the authorities against drivers of private vehicles who work on platforms.
“What we ask is that they enforce the law, that the vehicles be immobilized between 30, 60 and 90 days, and the licenses be suspended for repeat offenders,” said Gil.
Thus, it is expected that in the coming weeks, the drivers will announce the concentration points for the day of the national strike.
For their part, the authorities are working on an action plan to guarantee the safety and mobility of citizens during the day.
Fecode lifted the teachers’ strike
“We achieved the objective of sinking this project that deformed the oligarchy. We make the decision to suspend the permanent strike of the Colombian teachers“said the president of Fecode, Domingo Ayala, this Thursday, June 20, from Plaza de Bolívar.
