Between June 27 and July 5, Cinema Week will take place in Salta with activities for the whole family. This will be its 28th edition, and it will be held in various cultural spaces in the province.

For more than twenty years, this exhibition has been one of the most outstanding cultural events in Salta.

Its objective is to exhibit a selection of high-quality local, national and international cinema to generate a space for cinematographic meeting and audiovisual training.

The Secretary of Culture, Diego Ashurhighlighted that “despite sharing an adverse situation in the Culture scenario at the country level, it was a political decision to support those tools that we think are optimal for the development of the audiovisual sector throughout the Province.

The fund created last year for the first time in Salta, allows financing different lines linked to the audiovisual sector, whose productions in 2023 will be part of the schedule for all Salteños, with local and own productions.

Likewise, the Secretary of Culture recalled some of the actions aimed at promoting the audiovisual sector in the Province, highlighting the IDEA 2023-2024 Fund; the UPATECO Audiovisual Production Technician career; and the concretion of the 28th Cinema Week in Salta with the participation of important directors, producers and actors of Argentine Cinema.

The inaugural selection will include two local productions, which had the support of the Provincial Government through different calls and assistance.

The inaugural function will be on June 27 with the premiere of two productions, a short film called “Basura” by Emmanuel Moscoso which won the short film competition of the IDEA 2023 plan and then there will be the film Las Almas, debut of Laura Basombríoa director from Salta who premiered this film at the last Mar del Plata Festival.
