The Neiva Police intercepted a bus bound for Medellín, where they were transporting a stash of drugs.
Thanks to the alert from a human source, the authorities managed to thwart the illegal transport of a narcotic substance that was hidden in a public service bus from the Coomotor company, which covered the route from Puerto Asís, Putumayo, to Medellín.

The operation, which took place at the Coomotor gas station located on Carrera Séptima and Calle Segunda in Neiva, was executed with precision and speed. The uniformed officers intercepted the driver and the assistant of the bus to proceed with a thorough inspection of the vehicle.
“The alkaloid came hidden in a compartment of the vehicle known as the bedroom or cabin. Due to this action, Sierra and Barreiro, as the captured individuals are known, were left at the disposal of a guarantee control judge, who will decide their legal situation,” confirmed Colonel Alexander Castillo Marín, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police.
Units from the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN) participated in the operation, along with the Carabineros Section and canine guides. Thanks to their audacity and expertise, they managed to reveal the cache that, if it had not been intercepted, could have reached Medellín and affected the health of children, young people and adolescents in the Antioquia territory.
