Given the events recorded in the town of El Remolino, jurisdiction of the Municipality of Taminango and after the security council chaired by the Governor of Nariño, Luis Alfonso Escobar Jaramillo, the following conclusions were determined:
- Strengthen the force throughout the Subregion of La Cordillera and the northern entrance area to the Department of Nariño.
- Offer a reward of 50 million pesos so that those responsible for this incident are brought to the attention of the competent authorities and prosecuted.
- Maintain permanent coordination with competent institutions and entities, to find the whereabouts of those responsible for this crime.
- Strengthen surveillance and security fronts through security camera monitoring.
The Government of Nariño reaffirms its commitment to continue working for the territorial transformation and peace of the department, as the only action that materializes the projects aimed at the development of the territory and the protection of the right to life.

According to the newspaper El Tiempo, in the events of this Friday night the following lost their lives: Jonier Valencia, María Ligia Valencia and Santiago Moreno Ríos.
Jonier Alexander Valencia was a young merchant from the La Esmeralda district, in the municipality of El Rosario. He had arrived a few years ago to look for a better future in the town of Remolino, where he opened a small business selling cell phones and accessories.
María Ligia Meléndez was an active informal fast food seller, whose stall was located in front of the Police station..
Santiago Juseph Moreno Ríos, Police Auxiliary, native of the municipality of Túquerres. 11 months ago he had entered the police institution.
The Mayor’s Office of Taminango, on its Facebook account, stated: “The Municipal Administration confirms that the incinerated Chevrolet truck-type vehicle with plates DEK008, which is circulating in the news and social networks, in the events that mourn the town of Puerto Remolino, corresponds to the official travel vehicle of the Mayor of the municipality of Taminango Fernando Latorre Calvache.
We clarify that no municipal administration official was inside the vehicle at the time of the detonation of the explosive device. The facts are the subject of investigation.
