Two children are found in Las Cariñosas, a brothel in Pereira

In a surprise operation led by the Night Mayor’s Office of Pereira, two children aged 9 and 11 were discovered inside the Las Cariñosas brothel, located in the center of the city. This discovery has generated consternation due to the precarious conditions in which the minors were found, while their parents were allegedly using narcotics in another room of the establishment.

The Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF) has immediately begun the process of reestablishing rights for the children, who according to official sources, would have been exposed to significant risks to their physical and mental health during their stay in Las Cariñosas.

Unsanitary conditions and exposure to danger

The discovery occurred during a routine inspection carried out by local authorities as part of an ongoing effort to safeguard the integrity of minors in high-risk environments such as lenociny establishments. According to preliminary reports, conditions inside Las Cariñosas were alarming, with a mattress that showed obvious signs of deterioration and lack of hygiene, according to statements provided by an informant close to the investigation.

The manager of the brothel, who is also the father of the 11-year-old minor found at the site, and the mother of the 9-year-old boy, who does not work in Las Cariñosas but is apparently a drug user, were detained by the authorities. The Children and Adolescents Police are coordinating the necessary care for the minors, who were transferred to their mother to receive the protection and care they require.

Legal actions and closure of the establishment

After the discovery, Las Cariñosas was sealed by the corresponding authorities, who assured that the resumption of its activities will not be allowed until all legal requirements are met and the necessary conditions are verified to guarantee the safety and well-being of any person who could be affected by its operation.
