In the facilities of Los Chelcos RC and with the organization of the Andean Rugby Union, the first “Meeting of National Teams” took place this last Saturday, with the confrontation between La Rioja and Catamarca.
The duels were carried out in the Senior categories, M1 (M-15 and 16) and M2 (M-17 and 18), with the purpose of outlining the composition of the Andean teams, facing the next competitions that will face this season.
In the framework of the Senior duel, the victory went to the visit, since Catamarca won against La Rioja by 42 to 24.
Opening the day, they faced each other in the M1, where Catamarca won 34 to 7 (six tries to one), while in the M2 it was a victory for La Rioja by 7 to 5.
The winners of each category received their corresponding trophy, which in the case of the youth players was presented by the Secretary of Sports of La Rioja, Jorge Córdoba, and the Undersecretary, Facundo Ocampo, while the president of the Andean Union, Darío Almada , was in charge of presenting the trophy to the winner of the Senior duel.
