The latest Infoempleo Adecco report carries out an analysis of the Riojan labor market. His conclusion is that this is going through “a positive moment, with a falling unemployment rate and a notable increase in employment.” However, this good context has been accompanied by a problem for companies for “a few years”: the lack of profiles to fill certain positions.

The study, echoed by Europa Press, points out that some of the most sought-after profiles in La Rioja, and which are difficult to find, are related to qualified professionals in the agri-food sector, industry in general and technology companies. .

Specifically, with regard to the agri-food world, the study points out that the professionals sought are also in high demand in other autonomous communities, something that further accentuates the shortage of candidates. Added to this is the lack of generational change in this area, a fact that causes a mismatch between supply and demand.

Likewise, there are few profiles linked to the metal industry, which is very present in the Rioja market, since it brings together around 600 companies and more than 7,000 employees. Professionals such as assemblers and machinists are regularly sought after.

The technology sector also needs to recruit professionals and, according to the report, the main problem in filling these positions is the high qualifications required, in addition to being a world in which the gender gap is evident despite “high salaries and the number of offers available”, as well as the low levels of unemployment.

Other sectors that are continuously searching for workers in La Rioja are those related to customer service teleoperators or distribution. “These professions have greater demand than supply, which is why they are always highly sought after positions in La Rioja,” the report concludes.
