They open an investigation into former UNGRD director Olmedo López for irregularities in rebuilding Mocoa

The Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation into the former directors of the National Unit for Risk Management, Olmedo López and Eduardo José González, for the alleged irregularities that occurred in the execution of several works for the reconstruction of Mocoa (Putumayo) , this investment exceeded 185,000 million from the General Royalties System.

According to the monitoring carried out by the attorney general’s office, this package of 18 contracts is part of the specific action plan presented by the Mocoa mayor’s office, in order to accelerate and mitigate the probability of risk to avoid a new tragedy. There, alleged delays in execution and hiring of personnel to supervise these resources were detected.

Furthermore, the Public Ministry was able to detect the alleged deficiencies in design studies and budgets in four of the 18 works, and during its execution, technical irregularities were found that were not considered and would have put the infrastructure at risk.

The allocation of money for 86 activities that were not related to one of the construction projects is even being investigated, such as a trip to the island of San Andrés and Providencia for eight days, Due to these events, they are not only investigating López and González, but also the general secretary of that entity, Gerardo Jaramillo, and the legal vice president of Fiduprevisora, Rocío Rivera.

Within the investigations carried out by the Attorney General’s Office, evidence was requested such as, for example, a copy of the 17 construction and audit contracts signed by the UNGRD, In addition, the two contracts signed for the trip to San Andrés and the advice on environmental and housing issues, with their respective Certificates of Budget Availability and support for their execution.

It should be noted that, due to these same events, the Comptroller General of the Republic opened a fiscal responsibility process for $24,315 million pesos for irregularities in the Sauces II housing project. in Mocoa, to six former directors of Risk Management, including Olmedo López.
