In order to improve mobility and reduce transport times for harvested products, the Mayor’s Office of Valledupar began paving 7.3 kilometers in the Los Venados district.

The project was presented by the Ministry of Public Works to the community, which celebrates the intervention of the section that will go from the intersection of Caracolí to Los Venados. Flexible concrete will be applied and its investment is more than $10,770 million.

During the socialization led by the Secretary of Works, Layonel Arenas Díaz, the intervening firm and the executing contractor, the ‘venaeros’ expressed their satisfaction. María López commented: “We are happy, it is more than pavement, with these works our town progresses and is more attractive for those who visit us; “We can connect more quickly with other towns.”

The paving will also benefit neighboring communities such as Caracolí, Guaymaral and El Perro, a rural area located south of Valledupar.

Layonel Arenas Díaz highlighted the importance of this project, which will include the expansion of the road to seven meters wide to guarantee easy access to the township, and also highlighted the commitment and continuous monitoring of the Ministry of Works with compliance with the established parameters.

“This is a work for the benefit of the community, from now on the contractor will be required to execute it as agreed in the contract, if this is not complied with, corresponding fines will be imposed,” warned the Secretary of Public Works.

In this way, the Municipal Administration continues to work to improve living conditions in its townships; the paving of sections in townships such as La Mina, Los Corazones, Mariangola and Aguas Blancas is already underway.
