Cundinamarca: Zipaquirá firefighters attend to a vehicle fire in an urban area

On Monday morning, an emergency call was received from a citizen alerting about a vehicle fire on Carrera 11 # 2-17. Upon arriving at the scene, Zipaquirá fire units found that the community had tried to control the flames using several fire extinguishers without success. The fire came from the vehicle’s engine, which required specific technical maneuvers.

Using hand tools, firefighters opened the hood and disconnected the battery. They then extended a 1” spool line and discharged water to completely extinguish the fire.

structural fire

In the early hours of Saturday, June 22, at 4:20 am, the Ministry of Security reported another fire in a structure built with recycled material in the second block of the Bolívar 83 neighborhood.

According to testimonies from the community, the fire was allegedly caused by an inhabitant of the structure, who possibly burned cables to extract copper, leaving some material with a temperature that triggered the fire.

For this incident, four firefighting units and two fire extinguishing machines were required to combat the flames.

After controlling the main fire, firefighters used hand tools to remove items and continue cooling hot spots. At 5:10 am, they managed to extinguish the fire in its entirety.
