He Castro Rendón hospital prepares to celebrate its 111 years with different activities. It is the most complex establishment in the province of Neuquén. It provides medical and health care, with an area of influence of almost one million inhabitants. In the context of the celebrations, various activities will be carried out this week. The Neuquén Provincial Hospital, which was later renamed «Doctor Eduardo Castro Rendon» It was founded in 1913 and on June 28 it celebrates a new anniversary. As usual, the celebration will take place throughout the week starting this Monday, June 24th and until the 28th.
According to the statement issued by the hospital, there will be musical and artistic presentations. Furthermore, it will developto a health promotion and prevention activity on Saturday, June 29 “aimed at the community” with training, talks and other activities.
“The institution, which is a reference for other hospitals, has extensive history and experience in provincial public health,” they recalled.
Castro Rendón has a level IX healthcare complexity and has 205 benefits of different specialties and subspecialties.
It’s a National Reference Center for the treatment of pathologies that require high complexity, for which it is part of different national programs such as congenital heart disease, for example. The hospital has a Kidney Transplant Unit where 50 kidney transplants could be performed by 2022.
At the same time, it is important to highlight that it has an Oncology Service, with areas of Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy, and since 2022 it has a linear accelerator, state-of-the-art equipment for oncological treatment. In this sense, it should be noted that cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the Province.
Anniversary of the largest hospital in Neuquén: schedule of activities
According to the schedule of activities for the anniversary of the Castro Rendón hospital in Neuquén, this Monday the 24th at 12:30 the first activity was held, which consisted of a musical show.
