Milei, in the Czech Republic: “If I do well, they will probably give me the Nobel Prize in Economics”

President Javier Milei closed the last leg of his European tour this Monday with his visit to the Czech Republic and will begin his return to Argentina.

The president held meetings with local authorities, received a decoration from the Liberal Institute and gave a speech in which he said: “With my chief advisor, Demian Reidel, we are rewriting a large part of economic theory. If it turns out well, I will probably give the Nobel Prize in Economics together with Demian”.

At 10:30 (local time), Milei held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, while he was later awarded the Liberal Institute Prize at the Žofín Palace in Prague.

During his speech at this last event, the libertarian maintained that Argentina is “defeating inflation” and celebrated that the consumer price index for food and beverages during the last week was 0 percent, an achievement that ” “it wasn’t available 30 years ago.”

The President also pointed out that inflation and the lack of economic growth are the “two very clear problems” that the country is facing, but that after carrying out the “largest fiscal adjustment in the history of humanity” in six months of government, ” “Argentina has the potential to grow.”

Before the audience, he thanked “this recognition and the work we are carrying out in the fight for the ideas of freedom.”

“With my chief advisor, Dr. Demian Reidel, we are rewriting a large part of economic theory. If it turns out well, they will probably give me the Nobel Prize in Economics along with Demian,” he said.

Finally, as he has been proposing in his speeches in international forums, Milei stated that “hand in hand with the ideas of freedom and technological progress, free markets, respect for private property, respect for life,” Argentina will be able to “become the most brilliant case in the history of humanity to become rich again.”

Then, the Argentine president had his last activity in Prague, where, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, he was received at the city Castle by the Czech President Petr Pavel.

After this, Milei boarded the flight back to Buenos Aires, where his arrival is estimated around 7:30 a.m. this Tuesday.
