This Monday, June 24, Chile became the scene of the coldest place on the planet. The town of Balmaceda, located in the Aysén region, recorded a minimum temperature of -21.9 °C, being the lowest in the world during the day.

The Chilean Meteorological Directorate (DMC) reported through its X account (formerly Twitter) that at 06:38 in the morning, the Balmaceda Aerodrome Meteorological Station recorded this historic temperature.
